Happy New Year! (And a fresh start for your pixels)
"A warm welcome to 2026, some simple advice for your website, and a small update from the studio."
Happy New Year!
First off—thank you.
Whether you’re a client, a friend, or just someone who stumbled onto this corner of the internet, I’m grateful you’re here. 2025 was a big year for Pixel Boba, and it wouldn't have been possible without the trust of people who value craft over cookie-cutter templates.
A new year always brings that fresh-start energy. You’re mapping out goals, looking at your business with fresh eyes, and maybe wondering if your website is still doing its job.
If you are, here’s my honest advice for 2026. No jargon, just the basics that actually matter.
1. Clear is Kind.
The biggest trend I see isn't a new technology—it's clarity.
When someone lands on your site, do they know exactly what you do within 3 seconds? If your home page is full of buzzwords like "synergistic solutions" or "paradigm shifts," consider a rewrite.
Talk like a human. Tell people how you can help them. If you’re a bakery, say you bake the best sourdough in Miami. If you’re a consultant, say you help teams work better together. Simple wins.
2. Speed is Respect.
A slow website isn't just annoying; it’s disrespectful to your visitor's time.
In 2026, nobody waits for a loading spinner. If your site takes 5 seconds to load on a phone, you’ve likely lost them. Check your images—are they massive 5MB files? Compress them. It’s the easiest fix with the biggest impact.
3. Don't Forget the Basics.
Security isn't exciting, but getting hacked is even less fun.
If you’re on WordPress, update your plugins. If you’re on a custom stack (like the ones we build), ensure your dependencies are patched. Think of it like changing the oil in your car—boring, but necessary to keep the engine running smooth.
4. Mobile First (Still).
I know, I know. Everyone says this. But check your analytics—I bet 60% or more of your traffic is on mobile.
Open your site on your phone right now. Can you easily tap the "Contact" button with your thumb? is the text readable without squinting? If the answer is "no," prioritize that fix this month.
A Note from the Studio
As for us, we’re keeping things simple this year.
We’re doubling down on custom, hand-crafted builds. We’ve found that our best work happens when we partner deeply with a small number of clients rather than churning out dozens of sites.
We’re also focused on making editing easier. Just because a site is custom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to change a headline or swap a photo yourself. We’re refining our tools so clients have control where it counts, without the fear of breaking the layout.
And yes, Taro is still running the show. 🐾 His resolutions include stricter nap schedules and catching that red dot once and for all. He wishes you a productive (but restful) year ahead.
Let’s Make Something Great.
If you’ve got a big idea for 2026, or if your current site just doesn’t feel like you anymore, I’d love to chat.
No sales pitch, no pressure. Just a conversation about what you need and how we might help.
Here’s to a creative, clear, and successful year ahead.
