A sketchbook that looks back.
The Unfinished is a generative on-chain NFT project built around a simple idea: the website should feel as though it came from the same sketchbook as the collection. Drawn headings, imperfect borders and responsive characters make browsing part of the work itself.
A shared drawing engine gives this on-chain NFT collection its character. Repeatable seeds, expressive marks and a consistent set of materials create distinct artworks while keeping the collection recognisable. The same visual language extends into the website’s decorative interface.
The experience uses a living sketchbook, collection browsing and a guided studio. Paper, page composition and character movement shape the navigation and encourage a closer look.
Gaze, expression and motion give individual drawings a presence beyond a static thumbnail. The film below is an example from the project’s own motion studies.
